Friday now sees the staging within the second food and drinks promotional event in Harrogate this month.
Design Network North, in partnership with the LEP, is hosting a regular monthly Rise and Design event, emphasizing design from the munchies sector. It’s going to combine some iconic Yorkshire food producers to talk about their passion for their items and creativity behind their brands. The wedding might be held with the Sun Pavilion, Harrogate, from 8.30am.
In the first event, foods and drinks buyers from four European countries gathered in the Pavilions of Harrogate to meet a lot more than 130 ambitious Northern companies who wants to enhance their exports to the EU.
Business who emerged for the event included Harrogate-based Spirit of Harrogate makers of Slingsby Gin, Thirsk-based Shepherd’s Purse Cheeses, Leeds-based North Brewing company and Bradford-based Seabrook Crisps alongside various other familiar local brands.
Kersten England Us president of Bradford Council?and Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership said: “Last year, exports of food and drinks on the UK exceeded 20bn at last, 50 % of which traveled to EU markets, up 10.5 % on 2015. Opening the entranceway to international markets depends upon working with the right partners and having the best support along with the LEP can assist simplify that.”
Achim Helbig, CEO at BrauArt britische Biere, on the list of buyers within Dsseldorf, Germany said: “I’ve met quite a few worth it to read companies and tasted good quality products, many of which I have been mindful of, but some I wasn’t. Today has demonstrated me thats a wealth of great SMEs there are actually in Yorkshire and also their personal method to in operation, and that is important for me. Situation behind the brands helps me to offer these product in Germany. I’m anticipating seeing much more of Harrogate and sampling more local products.”
Clare Whitaker, Director of promoting at Spirit of Harrogate, makers of Slingsby gin said: “It’s been great to meet up with buyers from Switzerland, France and Germany with Harrogate, and attending useful marketing and business development workshops. The response may be extremely positive using this program . hoping these conversations bring us to untouched markets and allow us grow our brand further afield to make sure that more consumers can engage in our best rated products.”
The day comprised 135 face to face meetings with individual buyers, a marketplace of 54 food and drinks displays as well as a number of workshops about marketing, business development, insights and trends inside the refreshments sector.
